Senior Data Platform Engineer (Platform / DevOps)
Build and operate the platform layer behind a large-scale AWS data lakehouse, with a strong focus on Kubernetes, automation, observability, and secure-by-design operations.
You will work across EKS, Karpenter, Airflow, Kafka, Spark on Kubernetes, Terraform, and the governance controls needed in a regulated iGaming environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and run the AWS lakehouse platform foundation, including EKS, Karpenter, KEDA, networking, and RBAC.
- Operate Spark on Kubernetes as a core compute engine and support workload migration onto it.
- Own Airflow orchestration and Kafka streaming infrastructure, including schema and topic governance.
- Provision infrastructure as code with Terraform and mature CI/CD with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Flux.
- Run observability and secrets-management tooling, including metrics, logs, traces, and external secrets.
- Support storage and catalog layers such as S3, Iceberg, Glue, and Lake Formation.
- Enforce security and governance practices around PII, GDPR, encryption, and access control.
Requirements
- 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or a related infrastructure role.
- Strong Kubernetes experience, ideally with EKS and production operations.
- Hands-on AWS and Terraform experience.
- Production experience with Airflow and Kafka.
- Comfortable with CI/CD, GitOps, and observability tooling.
- Familiarity with Spark, Iceberg, lakehouse patterns, and secure cloud operations.
- Experience in fintech, banking, or another high-compliance environment is a plus.
